POS Opt-in Disclosure

Last updated: April 25, 2026

This page describes how Tendwa processes customer information captured during in-store transactions and digital receipts at shops using our point-of-sale software.

What we capture at the POS

  • Items purchased and services rendered.
  • Optional customer name, phone, and email (for receipts and follow-up).
  • Vehicle details (year/make/model/VIN) when relevant.
  • Payment method (truncated card data only — full card numbers are tokenised by the payment processor).

Digital receipts

Customers may opt in to receive their receipt by email or SMS instead of (or in addition to) paper. Opt-in is recorded at the moment of sale with a timestamp.

Marketing opt-in is separate

Providing your email or phone for a digital receipt does not opt you in to marketing communications. Marketing requires a separate, clearly-labelled consent.

Vehicle and service history

Shops may keep a record of services performed on a vehicle to support warranty work, recalls, and your future visits. You can request that a shop delete this record (subject to applicable record-keeping laws, such as those covering safety inspections).

Payment data

Card payments are processed by our PCI-DSS compliant payment partner.Tendwa stores only the last four digits of the card and the token returned by the processor — never the full card number, CVV, or PIN.

How to access or delete your data

Customers can ask the shop directly, or contact privacy@tendwa.com with a description of the visit (shop name, approximate date, and the email or phone you used). We respond within 30 days.

Sharing

Customer data captured at the POS is not sold or shared for third-party marketing purposes. Sharing with payment processors and accounting integrations occurs only as needed to complete the transaction and as described in our Privacy Policy.
